Great challenge today. The Sylvia Beach Hotel is beautiful. I loved the Agatha Christie with the fireplace so that is where I got my inspiration. The view from the room was gorgeous as well.

The hearth and fireplace are so perfect - you just know someone will be along to burn the pertinent clue or cryptic note. But oh my - they never learn that a telltale piece is always left in the ashes.

Ah, Denise, if anybody can pull off that Agatha Christie fireplace, I knew it would be you! I love how you pulled the teal walls into this card, and the stack of books balances the red urn (hmmm, is there a clue hidden in there?).

nicely played, Denise! I especially like the stack of books...colored so well. Your texture with the bricks, stone hearth, and the wood mantel really stands out. It is indeed, a well loved treasure.

What a fantastic fireplace! I love the pottery vase beside it. And of course the super pile of books. Since we inherited most of my grandmother's books when she had to move into care, our shelves were full of books that looked so like that, along with all the early Penguin paperbacks - orange for fiction, green for mystery, blue for biography. You have created a wonderfully cosy scene for any book lover.

What a cool fireplace scene with all the books stacked up alongside. It’s so inviting...think I’d like to curl up in a chair next to it and spend an afternoon reading.

What a great card for this challenge with the fireplace and teal walls. And that room - wonderful. I would love to stay and see how many clues from Dame Christie's books I could discover.
