LeAnn is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has come up with an amazing and unique combo for us to play with! The colors are Basic Black, Basic White and Basic Gray. The dessert option is to pick one additional color to add to your project.
It took me almost no time to decide these colors would be perfect for a gray cat with black stripes, and that, of course, led me to my collection of Tim Holtz Snarky Christmas Cats. I think they're so adorable!
I stamped the cat in archival black ink on watercolor paper and colored him with my new Karin brush markers and a waterbrush. Then I fussy cut him out and eventually mounted him on an action wobble. I created a little winter scene with a snowbank and a gray sky with some white embossed snowflakes. I cut a thin red border and stamped the sad little greeting in black ink, then mounted all on a white card base.
I'm excited to see the gallery this week. I'll bet some people will go for the black/gray/white scheme, while others will focus on their dessert color. Where will your creative ideas take you?

You are so right, Barbara! That cat certainly is perfect for these colors. I love the rough texture of his coat juxtaposed against the delicate snowflakes. What fun!

oh this little cat is snarky alright and the sentiment fits him to a "t". The glossy accents you used for his eyes and the "never mind" word -describe him exactly!!! It made me laugh. A cute Christmas card for a cat lover.

Hahaha! Barbara it looks like your ornery cat is up to no good! Love that sentiment! Great idea putting your cat on a action wobble making him shiver on the snowbank! His eyes are a crack up too, they make you feel you have caught him in the act of no good! This brought a chuckle this morning! TFS
