Here's my card for today's TLC challenge which - forgive me for not linking directly but I already had to fix broken links in the challenge last night and I'm fed up with breaking links - you will find stickied at the top of the TLC challenge forum this week.
I edged each strip with a black Sharpie, and mounted them onto an A2 card base. To decorate this I used a little panda from Unity, and the bird is from Carte Postale. The bamboo is Amy Tan, cut from green card and buffed with assorted metallic and lustre rub-ons. Until he took a closer look, the panda and bamboo gave DH the illusion that I'd actually used real Japanese paper for my background .

Sabrina are you saying that those aren’t real Japanese papers..they are exquisite. I love what you did with your bamboo..looks so good with the papers and the panda is a perfect addition. TFS. Happy day

fabulous example of this technique, Sabrina! I love the vertical panels...reminds me of the silk tapestries. Love the grid, the gold embossing, and the bamboo die cuts. I also enjoyed following the stamping and piecing it together.
You've got me wanting to begin a warm color way square...all those fiddly bits...

Love it! Love the technique, the panels (I did that too) and the cute panda with his bamboo. The gold really shows up, and the bg is wonderful, mf!!!

Wow they do look like Japanese washi paper. Amazing! Love the bluebird or swallow. My brother has bluebirds nesting on their property every year, sometimes 4 or 5 clutches.
