Congratulations, Inspiration Challenge! #800. Congratulations past and present Hostesses, I so appreciate your time and talents bringing us varying objects to be inspired by.
I fell deep down the rabbit hole with this weeks site, Julie! Design Stack: A Blog about Art, Design, and Architecture: Magic Realism in Surreal Paintings. And I only had to scroll down 13 paintings to find ' A Chalkboard Universe'. I am not able to capture the picture directly. If you click on my link, the painting is #13.
I've been wanting to work on a celestial background so this was quite a challenge. I knew I'd use my scooter skating woman with this fun sentiment:
Tired of trying to cram her SPARKLY, star-shaped SELF into society's beige square holes, she chose to EMBRACE her ridiculous awesomeness and shine like the FREAKING SUPERNOVA she was meant to be.
It's just my celestial highway had to be GOOD enough for her journey...the background is a combination of sponging TH DO's, sprinkling glittered sprays, and using the Colorful Life 'Atomic Starbursts' stencil and more glittered spray. Kinda of like the 'kitchen sink' approach. I also wanted to collage the sentiment.
My galaxy scooting woman is walking amongst the stars...not quite sure where she's headed, but I have no doubt she'll enjoy the journey!!! NO beige boxes...
Keep shinin'. Thanks for stopping by...

This IC is rabbit hole, for sure. I love surrealistic stuff, fantasy, crazy! I was sure you would do something with a zipper. You do cosmic so beautifully and Gert (or whatever her name is) is pretty amazed too. I love her and I have always wished for a scooter. Love all the words scattered all around.

Speaking as a sparkly star shaped person, I am totally for avoiding all those beige boxes...a scooter seems like the perfect solution...hooray for the supernova chick seen here. I love those VLVS people! Fantastic cosmos you've created here...wonderfully original card mf!

I love your inspiring sentiment, and your use of mixed media to express it is wonderful. The universe you've created for her definitely suits her awesomeness. Fabulous card.

There are so many paths that can keep one out of their beige boxes of life, and so glad this little lady no matter her age has followed that star shaped calling that was so totally her, and to scoot along on a scooter to make the journey even all the more fun! So creative, Susan and I so love getting to study and ponder the messages you add to your work. Love it, my creative friend!

Ha, I think I know this chick. I love the colors and depth your sky has for her journey and the ransom look to the sentiment adds to the cool-ness factor Susan
