It was almost 70 degrees one day last week and it happened to also be a half day of school. So we took a walk to the park. Everyone else had the same idea. It was so nice to see the joy on all the kids faces while they played together and enjoyed the nice weather. One of the mom's brought snacks and freeze pops. It was such a fun day. There was a little baseball game going on that my kids jumped into. So my card for my VSN challenge of "Sports at the Park" is baseball themed. I had this adorable baseball bear on my to do list and he is perfect for this baseball joke - "I wondered why the ball was getting bigger...then it hit me." Perfect with the confused look on his face and the patch on his eye that I colored like he has a black eye from getting hit with the ball. I masked the bear and stamped the trees in the background so it would look like he is playing baseball at the park. Then I sponged DOX ink on the grass and sky. I then managed to match my Copic markers perfectly to the grass and sky color to color near the horizon. I've used the Stella Says Sketch Challenge to finish the card. Went with my favorite technique of diy plaid for the background.
