Hello and welcome to this weekâs Color Challenge. Barbara is hosting this week and the colors she chose for us are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Just Jade, and Balmy Blue. Flowers for dessert.
I made my card using a Digi stamp from AlexSyberia Design. Her Digi stamps are all hand drawn and very pretty. I like this particular design because of its bold flowers and unique leaves. I colored the image with alcohol markers that (I hope!) are close to the SU colors. I cut the image out, glued two layers of scrap cardstock behind it, and adhered it onto an inked up embossed background.
As for the sentiment, I originally stamped it onto a rectangular piece of cardstock. The words were one straight line of text. For some reason I decided to fussy cut around the sentiment and cut it in half. Despite the messy fussy cut job, Iâm happy with how it turned out.
Gotta say, these colors were pretty fantastic to work with. I wasnât too sure when I first saw them, but once I began to play around with them, I realized that theyâre a great combination!
Enjoy!

I'm glad you enjoyed working with these colors, Marianne! You certainly did them justice with your beautifully colored flowers and embossed background. I think you did a great job fussy cutting the sentiment!

I would love to stick my nose in these beauties right now and sniff their sweet fragrances! Love the way you blended the blue for your sky using a swirly ef. Well done~

Marianne you have done a beautiful job of coloring your bold and happy flowers! I see nothing wrong with your fussy cutting on your sentiment my friend, however, I must agree we all don't take enough time to smell the flowers. Awesome design!
