Recently, I have been quite enamored with using the negative of my die cuts. I recently saw this cute card from Lori (ArtzadoniStudio) where she used the negative die cut to frame this cute Valentine girl and it inspired me to do something with my left over cut out. Here's Lori's great card: IC793 Peek-A-Boo Valentine by ArtzadoniStudio at Splitcoaststampers
My stepson is a Baylor alum and sports fan, so I wanted to make him a "Baylor" card for his birthday this year. Their colors are green and gold and the bear is their mascot. I really wanted to print an outline of a bear so it would be cut from the AI print, but I couldn't find an outline that I liked, so I went this route instead.
I printed clipart of a bear silhouette that I found online onto white cardstock and then cut it out with an exacto knife. Edged the panel with some strips of fancy gold wrapping a friend had given me. Layered it over the AI panel. White embossed the sentiment.
So then I had this black silhouette of a bear left over as well as another AI panel. So I layered those and stamped the sentiment in black ink. In this case, my "negative" space was the positive space, which has me very topsy turvey. LOL
Hope your day is filled with inky fun and lots of positive space. TFL.

Debbie, this is amazing! So impressed with your exacto knife skills - I have ZERO talent with one. LOVE the backgrounds and the bear. Very cool! Hugz

Wow these are awesome cards. Both the positive and negative bears are great! Makes me want to explore more with alcohol inks. I keep buying them but haven't hardly cracked a bottle yet. These inspire me!
