Used all three colors on the left diagonal and the top line. The colors were the Stampin' Up! equivalents to Close To My Heart colors: Candy Apple, Lagoon, and Bluebird on the diagonal; and Candy Apple, Sundance and Avocado on the top line of the tic-tac-toe chart.
I had seen a card whose layout I like that was created by Karly on Pinterest (http://karlyscreations.blogspot.com/...-photo_5.html). But of course I added my own touch to it by changing colors and sponging. The red color is pretty intense, so I stamped off once before stamping the card itself, The other colors I did full intensity. Blending was done after the main panel was created using a brush and the darker blue color.
The white sponge fan was created by heat embossing onto a heavy sheet of acetate, then trimming closely around it with paper snips. It was mounted using Mini Glue Dots.
The banner is a 1" wide strip of the darker blue, with a 3/4" strip of white that were both punched with a flag punch. The birthday sentiment was stamped in the darker blue ink to match the banner.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since the stamping is straight forward. I think it will make a great masculine birthday card.

What a great card. I like all the colors you used and I thought the sponge/fan was a die cut at first. I never have thought to emboss on acetate like that. Thanks for the fantastic tip!
