THis card was made for two challenges that required the use of plaid and a St Patrick's Day theme. I wanted to make a card to send to my grand-daughter who lives 700 miles away, so chose a fun owl in shades of green.
This is a very unusual card for be because it involves absolutely no stamping! I bought the St. Patrick's Owl from Design Bundles as part of their "Amazing Craft Bundle" cutting file set. There were about 6 shades of green used for him, but I cut it down to only 3 shades. I used Sure Cut's A Lot (SCAL) software to load him onto my computer as an SVG file, then edited to reduce the colors before transferring him to my ScanNCut digital cutting machine. After cutting him out, I assembled and glued him layer-by-layer, then attached him to my card front using foam strips.
The card base is white, the background is a lovely blue/green plaid, and his tummy is a red/green plaid that I die cut with an oval die, then trimmed to round the bottom of his tummy.
The sentiment had to be small since I made the owl so large, so I printed out the greeting using AR Christy font on my computer.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "3" since I had to edit the file to reduce colors. If you already have a stamped owl, it would be a "1". I think my grandj-daughter will love him when he arrives in March!
