WT828 - Gingko or Cilantro?
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: ravengirl

I made this card for my Ways To Use It challenge all about scissors. I started out with the scherenschnitte technique in mind and it turned out to be some variation on it.

To be quite honest, most of the trimming was done with a craft knife, but I did get in there with my scissors too. I stamped my image on the wrong side of my dotted paper and then began to trim it out. When I was done, I mounted my focal panel on a piece of origami paper. I used some glue to align some of the really thin bits in the proper spots to show the image.

I stamped the panel, added the ribbon tabs and popped the whole thing up on a card base.

Thanks for looking!

ETA: The title came from my hubby's response to the finished card. He thought that it looked like cilantro.

Lovely card, Toni. You have a lot more patience with scissors than I do!

As for the plant...it is a type of Maidenhair fern.

Just so that you can tell your hubby!

Ah, very clever. I had assumed it was fussy-cut and laid on. That WAS a lot of work, but it's a great look. I can see how it could be cilantro.

Beautiful card, Toni! The black ribbon tabs are that perfect "extra" that takes the card up a notch!

Another pretty card. That takes a lot of time and patience to cut with a craft knife.
