My good friend, Faith, wrote a fictional account of her first trip to Africa where she had the great fortune to interact with the Gorillas in the sanctuary of Dian Fossey's studies. My book club just finished reading her book and have invited her to be a guest speaker at our next meeting. This will be her Thank-You card. I know this isn't a gorilla -- looks more like a chimp -- and there aren't maples in Africa, but you gotta go with the supplies you have so there you have it.
I took my inspiration from an ornament on the Fancy.com site. I nestled my chimps in foliage just like the ornament pictured here: https://fancy.com/things/23602849426...tm=shop_browse
Thanks for the inspiration Julie. I found many more items that I have bookmarked for future use too.
The card is straight forward -- print, color, mask the image, stamp the leaves, mat. I popped the green mat up with foam tape for a bit of extra depth. I added stickles to the delicate flowers to help them stand out a bit....and because Jen (Jennifrann) would think I went back to the dark side if I didn't add some glitter.
Hope your day is filled with the same kindness and affection I see reflected in this sweet image. We could all use a bit of TLC these days. Happy Stamping and TFL.

Oh this is absolutely beautiful and what a great card for your visiting author. What a cool interpretation from your inspiration! I would have never come up with this awesome scene from the puzzle pieces. Kindness and compassion just jump out from this card. Like the way you double matted with the textured gray and green. fav'd
