My 1st pop-up box card, a tickler for a fellow teapotter. Hard to see in the picture but the large scalloped oval has a butterfly and the word hope. And elephants on the front panel, a nod to Babar. 2020 has been a trying year for many and we were not the exception. Job loss, both parent-in-law's died and on Monday my son's house caught fire. Everyone escaped and are safe but there is nothing salvageable left. So, for now and maybe for quite some time, he, his wife and their 4 year old autistic son have moved in with us. The words to an old hymn resonate tonight: Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow...
May 2021 bring all that and more for each one. Enjoy!

It is interesting how many of us included butterflies in our depictions of hope. Can anyone see a butterfly without feeling joy?! Love all the colors you used and the sweet image of elephants!

Oh, thank you for the nod to Babar! I love the illustrations in those books, and I have three that belonged to my dad. Somehow I don't have the ones that were mine!! And I love the way you used circles for your stamped butterflies. My goodness, though, I'm so sorry to read that an already difficult year still had another unpleasant experience in store for you. I hope they were well insured, but a lot of stuff is emotionally not replaceable. We had a visit yesterday from a friend whose two adult autistic children were in respite care for a couple of nights, and we talked of the Prince of Peace. May you know His peace while you hope for the brighter tomorrow.

Goodness Vicky, so sorry to hear you've had a difficult year. Hoping things get better for you and your family. Lovely display of butterfly stamps here (I think you can never have too many butterfly or flower stamps.)

so very so for your loss and sons fire---glad all were safe. I just had my sons family move on Sunday to Missouri as after 7 mo. they got a house so was hard with all the people here but it gets better. Sweet card esp. for your first one and you did a great job and butterflies are a sign of good luck so hope it gives you some luck
