According to the video tutorial, faux heat embossing has been around for a while. I guess I haven't been paying attention because I had never heard of it before. Believe me, I will be making many cards in the future using this super fun and easy technique.
For my card, I used glitter paper and clear packing tape to create the faux embossed look along with the word dies. It's hard to see the glitter in the photo but it definitely looks as though heat embossing was involved. I love that look of embossing without having to mess with embossing powder and a heat tool!
This card is for my sister who has a January birthday.
Enjoy!

It is so easy, isn't it! Especially compared to heat embossing or adding Glossy Accents carefully to die-cut words. I'm betting the glitter card looks fab IRL because I tried that just about an hour ago, but won't get a photo till tomorrow. I like the use of vellum to soften the DP around the cake.
