CC822 = Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black
Heat embossed the image with black on watercolor paper. Watercolored the holly. Came back in with a black Copic and colored the bg. Coated some of the berries with clear Nuvo drops and added the white embossed sentiment. I used Mambo Melon framing....seemed similar to Magenta Madness.

That wonderful black background just makes this holly pop! Great work, Sallie!

Wow, wow, WOW!!! Your watercoloring looks SO realistic, Sallie--especially those berries which have such dimension, and they look like they have been dusted in snow. Your leaves have great dimension and color as well. I don't know how you managed to paint your background in black after coloring in your focal image, that would be way beyond me, and I'd surely mess it up in some way. I agree with you--that mambo mango is the perfect color to pull out the right shade from those berries--it worked like magic, I think.
Favorited, as always I'm so impressed with your artistry, no matter what is your medium. Wishing that I could list this as one of my Favorites of the Week, and will do so if this thread is up and running by the beginning of next week. I know that SCS is doing all that is possible to get it back operational. In the meantime, I am beyond inspired, but then your art ALWAYS inspires me and uplifts too, which I think is pretty special.
Best wishes, have a very blessed and enjoyable Christmas,
