I struggled with my watercoloring today. Probably because I still refuse to actually buy watercolors. I use what I have. I decided that pine branches framing this cute Thanksgiving scene could make a fun Christmas scene. I did some stamping and masking to put a Santa hat on the bear to turn my Thanksgiving scene into Christmas. You may remember these animals from this Thanksgiving card. Well they're back with mashed potatoes and pie for Christmas. They should learn some new recipes. I used the same background stencil for today's card, but this time I lightly watercolored through it with Evergreen Bough and Old Paper Distress ink. Then I watercolored the pine branches with Distress ink and watercolored the animals with Spectrum Aqua markers. Applied Wink of Stella to the snowy ground and Stickles to the Santa hat. Splattered the scene with a little bit of white acrylic snow.

Howdy WC neighbor! Good to see you back with me for another challenge. I'd say your pine boughs turned out super with those long skinny needles fluffed out from the branch. your stenciled leaves in the bg sure look a lot like the magnolia leaves in the tutorial . . . . (I need practice on those . . .)

Clever adaptions to turn Thanksgiving into Christmas. Way to stretch those stamps. Your pine needles look great as does the whole Christmas scene. I wish I could get those points on your needles into my work. And, if I'm invited by these critters for dinner, they don't need to learn anything new...I love mashed potatoes and pie!

I really like how you took the winter foliage and used it to make a Christmas card along with the Santa hat. Great jobs on the boughs. The stencil adds a nice touch to your background. Again we are so happy you joined for the challenge.

Aww! This is darling! I love your festive pine boughs! Your scene is just too fun and I enjoyed checking out the Thanksgiving card again! Funny, but we usually have the same meal at Thanksgiving and Christmas!

So precious, Jen. Great critters that have such a fun look, and your ink painted branches are the perfect touch. You did a fab job on the foliage. I am impressed! Hugz
