This was a simple card but not very clean. I used a very grungy shaving cream background that got very muddy because I had to scrape off the abundance of the cream. I kept it in my stash and thought it would look good as a sweater background. It looks like marled yarn. I used some yarn behind the oval, which was cut from cs and the dictionary page about knitting. This is also for yesterday's FS, honoring Gayle. This is what I cased: Festival of Trees by gl1253 at Splitcoaststampers
This card will go to my sister, Janet. She has quit her long time job as a director and manager of rehab services at a hospital in Milwaukee and will move up to Rhinelander, WI to their retirement home. Her husband retired early and she took a job at a rehab facility where she will once again treat as an OT. Back to her roots. The stress of her job was too much. I am in denial that she is leaving me. My maiden name is Meyer and I am the last Meyer to be living in Menomonee Falls; we have lived here for almost 100 years. I hope she will have more time to knit now that she doesn't have to bring her work home. Life is too short to be unhappy and stressed. I'm happy for her but sad for me.

Ohhhh great idea!!! I have a background that I made with brushos that I think is muddy. I’ll have to pull it out & use it. I love the colors in your background.

What a dear card for your sis! I always enjoy reading your commentary. How exciting for your sister! Less stress and more time doing something you love! Your knitted bg with the marls or speckles as I think of it is is just perfect.
I love how you used the word torn from the dictionary page...Knit. I am looking forward to a Mystery knit along with a lab friend. Once a week we'll get a clue beginning January 1. It is an 8 week challenge. I'll find some marled yarn and think of you and your sis.
All the history behind your relatives...deep.

How neat, love the sweater embossing, and then the knitting instructions, very clever!
