You are probably looking at this journal page wondering what food has to do with this.
Seafood is very popular at Christmas time here in Australia and so are picnics down the beach or eating fish and chips wrapped in paper as you watch kids in their sail boats. I did add a few fish to my journal page, but they somehow got lost under the modelling paste, err I mean, surf.
This is a photo copy of a line drawing sketch page in the Happy Hour Art Journal 'Whimsical Girls" A4 sized book by Jane Davenport. I printed the colouring page directly onto a kids book page. It is a pure fluke that the sentences are lined up perfectly on the right hand sail.
Before the "angel policy" police get their knickers in a twist, on the second page of the Jane Davenport book, she gives permission to photocopy the content for the personal use of the retail purchaser. On the other hand I have probably violated some copyright law for using the kids reading book LOL.
The vintage reading book paper is very thin so I coloured everything with gellato crayons and moistened my finger tips to move the colour around. The background page of the journal was done by squirting Dylusions ink and water onto wet gesso, then closing the journal and firmly pressing the pages together. I hope that makes sense.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in. Stay safe.

Pure eye candy, and not the bad kind that I eat. This journal page us so creative and well done. The modeling paste adds so much interest and fun texture. That must be you sailing out to sea.
Fabulous idea to use sea food for your inspiration. Right now seafood would be a welcome sight after spending an entire day cooking a huge turkey, carving it, eating it, and cleaning up the mess. I like how this looks like a watercolors picture.

Interesting to have fish at Christmas. In Oklahoma it has always been baked chicken until I went to California and the it was Turkey. Love the sailboat and little girl! Always love your mix of colors and texture! Got my problem fixed on my iPhone! Fun challenge!

Fish is big for Christmas in some of the European cultures - Poland comes to mind for sure. I'd love to be out at sea in "The Sun". The colour palette is lovely. I appreciate your lucky accident of the text turning out bang on for the striped sail. I can't tell you how many sheets of labels I have printed on the wrong side!
I cycle past a chip shop on the way home from work and the smells are always so appetising!!!

I know what knickers are....I would never dream of letting them twist. I can only imagine how good fish is down under, we like fish here too, but not that readily available. I have had salmon from Lake Michigan though. Yum. Your mixed media is, as always, delightful....where have you been? Traveling? Doing other fun things? Glad to see your creation front and center.
