You are probably looking at this journal page wondering what food has to do with this.
Seafood is very popular at Christmas time here in Australia and so are picnics down the beach or eating fish and chips wrapped in paper as you watch kids in their sail boats. I did add a few fish to my journal page, but they somehow got lost under the modelling paste, err I mean, surf.
This is a photo copy of a line drawing sketch page in the Happy Hour Art Journal 'Whimsical Girls" A4 sized book by Jane Davenport. I printed the colouring page directly onto a kids book page. It is a pure fluke that the sentences are lined up perfectly on the right hand sail.
Before the "angel policy" police get their knickers in a twist, on the second page of the Jane Davenport book, she gives permission to photocopy the content for the personal use of the retail purchaser. On the other hand I have probably violated some copyright law for using the kids reading book LOL.
The vintage reading book paper is very thin so I coloured everything with gellato crayons and moistened my finger tips to move the colour around. The background page of the journal was done by squirting Dylusions ink and water onto wet gesso, then closing the journal and firmly pressing the pages together. I hope that makes sense.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in. Stay safe.

What a fabulous page with awesome colors! When we lived in CT. we would go to a friend's house and have a meal of different kinds of fish and what a delight it was! In CA we would have fresh crab on Christmas Eve ....so good! Love the gorgeous colors you used as well as your write up.....TFS

Beautiful Susie, love all the "surf" and stuff! Great idea to use that page and I really can't think of any copyright laws that says you can't tear a page out of a book! LOL! I love that boat and girl, I thought at first that you drew it! Love the little portholes on the boat, i think I have a thing for portholes anyway!! Gorgeous as always my sistah!

this has such gorgeous textures and the culture stories are fun to read too ( I have never had fish and chips) but, we do always eat a lot of seafood mainly when we go to the coast.

There is so much to look at in this beautiful page! Seafood is pretty popular here in the Gulf Coast of the US for the Holidays too! It is sounding really good to me right now! It is quite cool how the text lined right up with your stripes. The surf may have hidden the fish, but it looks really great. So many details to see!

oh course late to the party...but so fun to catch this whimsical work! Gotta love the serendipities of art (the striped sail lined up with the sentences of the book). The way you created the water is such a wonderful touch. love it to 'bits', mf.
