I watched the video on using simple shapes to make quick watercolor holiday cards. I wanted to make this challenge truly my own so decided ball shapes for a snowman could just as easily be ball shaped ornaments. Took a deep breath and painted 2 red balls Then added some deeper shadows by adding some purple to my original red. Once dry I used Solar Gold to draw small squares on the balls plus a gold loop - Hey these things really are starting to look like ornaments. Painted in some shadows under the ornaments with a muddy looking mixture that was already on my palette. Now for a true leap of faith - I really like the way these turned out (and don't want to muck them up) but the ornaments seem lonely so Second deep breath and I watercolored in some pine boughs. Yeah! the vision in my head turned out today. . . . Die cut my sentiment from the same DP as the frame and assembled my card.

You've painted a beauty today. I love how you watercolored the ornaments. You were truly brave to add that pretty pine. I've been known to take a deep breath or two before making additions so I fully understand.

GORGEOUS!!!! We all know the feeling of taking that deep breath, and hoping it works. You really know how to mix those colors...my favorite thing about watercoloring. Amazing shadows. Like how you grounded them with your pine bough. A real stunner for the challenge, Linda. TFS
