This tag is for the Teapot Tickle. Gracie has challenged us all to open our eyes and to make something that depicts this year for us.
When I saw the challenge I knew I had the perfect stamps for it. I've had my Jane Davenport face, lips and eyes stamp for months and so it finally was inked up. I also had a new stamp with the cool looking eye at the bottom of the tag and bang smack in the middle of WA.
We have been lucky here in Oz and especially in WA. We only had 5 weeks of lockdown in March and since then we have lived pretty much similar to pre-Covid...without the hugging and still social distancing. Our State has survived, and the only cases brought in were returning travellers or international cruise and cargo ships who had to abide by strict quarantine rules. Our Premier decided to close our border not only from the world, but also to the rest of Australia, effectively making us an island within an island. We are still closed but yesterday he announced that our border restriction will be lifted in a few weeks to some States within Oz. Scary!
Back to my tag. During lockdown and still, I spend a lot of time at home. I like being at home and my world is either craft, reading or jigsaw puzzles and watching shows with my DH. It doesn't suit everyone but suits us. When lockdown was lifted, I panicked and anxiety set in. I found that all the stress of rushing around, which my life was pre-Covid, didn't occur during lockdown. Since our life has returned back to what is now the new norm, I have learnt to slow it down.
So my tag depicts Oz and WA who has their beady eye on the rest of Oz and with our border closed.
I also facetime, zoom and use video WhatsApp a lot and with family and friends around the world, as well as crafting with friends on this site. I decided to use the frame as my screen and each window has all the eyes looking out at me. I love eyes and it's the first thing I notice when meeting someone new.
After stamping the eyes, I decided to give them all some sparkle. Stamped my sentiments and done.
The BG paper is out of my scrapping stash and has the world on it and which seemed appropriate.
TFL. Happy day and I sincerely hope that you are all keeping safe and well and that this horrible virus would just go ppffftttt. Hugs

Love how you have fitted all those eyes in. LOL, you will get a case of cookies for this. This is really creative! Nice to know I am not the only one that was thinking anxiety would set in, when things get back to normal. I liked knowing I did not have to be anywhere at the beginning when we had lockdown.

So very meaningful and personable, Jayne. Thank you for sharing the message of your heart! I love the Australia image with the different states marked off. I always read WA as the state above me...must get used to thinking Western Aussie as well! Love the significant of the sparkly eyes...looking outward...be well!

I really like the Australia map with the eye in WA. Proper quarantine is the way to go...here it's self-policed so I don't know how many people truly follow it. We have a friend who has just come over from Thailand, and she was saying that when she returns it will be "proper" quarantine in a hotel for two weeks, not like here. But as she's planning to stay for at least four months, she's kind of hoping things will be better by then.
Love all the glittery eyeshadow on those framed eyes. And I totally agree with the sentiment. Once (in another lifetime, it feels like) I was standing at the bus stop heading into work. A flight of swans flew overhead, but I think I was the only person who saw them.

Fantastic card Jayne! Shirl is right...you deserve a case of cookies! LOL What a wonderful creation with all of those eyes and the map of Australia. Looking up is the only way to be now-a-days. I try to limit my time with people who are always a "downer" and looking at the negative things in the world. It's such a drain on one's energy. Hugs dear friend!

EYE love this creation, too, Jayne. I made a similar one once, lots of eyes card with red sparkles, for my friend who had an eye lift. Putting your eyes in boxes iand the map is so symbolic and I love that Gracie's challenge brought out our artful feelings.
