I created this encouragement card for Send a Smile 4 Kids. I stamped the rainbow on a scrap of smooth bristol paper with Fog ink, then used my Tombow markers to color it. For the clouds, I added a bit of shading with a very pale blue marker, and blended it out with the Tombow blender marker. Finally, I cut it with the coordinating die.
I cut a scrap of pink cardstock into several 1/8" wide strips. After cutting my cloudy sky patterned paper down to 4x5-1/4", I glued the strips to it. I used my gridded ruler to line up the top strip, parallel to the top of the panel & centered. Then I measured down 1/16" from the bottom of that strip, made 2 tick marks with my pencil, and lined up the top edge of the next strip with those marks when I glued it in place. I just repeated those steps until I glued all the strips down. It was admittedly a bit tedious, but I fortunately didn't have all THAT many strips to glue down!
I stamped my greeting with Morning Mist ink below the bottom strip, and glued my rainbow in place. Finally, I matted the card front with a yellow panel, and adhered that to a white card base.
