My mom's birthday is coming up, and I always make her a card from her "grandkits." This is actually getting harder to do, since I'm "using up" a lot of my cat images! LOL The inspiration for the greeting on this card came from this one I saw on Pinterest (where else?).
I first created a blank A2-size "canvas" in Photoshop. I opened the 2 Bugaboo images, and dragged the cat in the flower pot to my canvas. I resized it to fit, and added the first part of my greeting with the Clarence font. I felt that font lent itself well to the style of imagery.
I created another canvas at 4x5-1/4", and dragged my "Kitty Kat" image to that. I resized it, then duplicated the layer so I had 2 cats. Two of our cats, Zipper & Ginger, though not related, look very much alike, so I decided these two would be they. (The one on the front would be our middle cat, Barney.) Ginger is smaller than Zipper, so I made one of the cats smaller, & flipped it horizontally so it wouldn't look as much like the exact same image. Finally, I added the second part of the greeting, and our cats' "signatures." I printed both panels onto vellum bristol paper.
I used my Prismacolor colored pencils to color the images to look like our cats. Because I've discovered that Gamsol smears the ink from our printer, I wasn't able to use that to blend colors. So, I either left the pencil texture, or smoothed the color by blending with a lighter-colored pencil.
I felt the front needed some grass, so I die cut a scrap of patterned paper and glued it to my card front. Finally, I adhered that to the front of a white card base, & added my inside panel. I'm sure Mama will get a kick out of this!
