Hello and this is my MMJ05 Masking Tape mixed media challenge project - the Top Page of 'the Cemetery'.
I laid the masking tape down with creases that stand up to be the fingers in the wings of the bats. I added b/w acrylic paint (stirred into gray) over the masking tape. when dry, I added black acrylic paint on the top edges of the tape to highlight the fingers and body edges. painted in tiny heads/ears/feet and swirled in some veins.
Some were more blobs, but still tried to add definition with the black acrylic paint.
added some Typeset DSP on the edges, that is a continuing theme from the bottom half of the Journal pages, see my gallery for the 2nd page which is the Cemetery (bottom page) posting.
thanks for looking and take good care. Teresa

The bats are super cool. I know that part of New Mexico has a lot of bats at dusk. You know I love this kind of scene and I am so excited you used the masking tape to make bats!!! Super creative and fun. These two journal pages are awesome, Teresa! Hugz

Oh wow Teresa, these bats look so real I swear I can smell them. There is a beach town we holiday at in Queensland - perfect during the day and super scary at night with millions of little bats. This is awesome!!!!
