This is my card for CC807. Karen is our hostess and she chose highland heather, rococo rose and pear pizzazz for her color trio. Dessert Option this week is last rose of summer.
I have needed some sympathy cards lately and I didn't have any on hand. It's always best to make them when you don't need them.
I like to keep sympathy cards on the clean and simple side. So for this card, I used some Stampin'-Up designer paper from the "Timeless Elegance" collection and colored the rose with Stampin' Blends. For the leaves I used a Copic Marker in a shade close to pear pizzazz. I decided not to color the other flowers on the paper.
Stamped my sentiment in black ink and added a few rococo rose enamel dots to complete my card.
Hope you can play along with us this week. It's our first challenge of September and the roses won't be around for a lot longer.

I love the understated elegance of your design, Mary. That restraint is perfect for a Sympathy greeting. You are right, the time to make them is before you need them. Beautiful card.

Sympathy cards are the hardest thing for me to make, too. But you're right, make 'em before you need 'em. This one is so perfect. I love that you've left some of the flowers uncolored. Beautiful!

Beautifully done Mary! I love the subtle touch of Rococo Rose in your enamel dots, provides the perfect accent! Smart idea of coloring the DSP... I like how you left some of the flowers uncolored! TFS
