this is an anniversary card for my DH...my best friend for 29 years. I have no idea how I ended up with a card that looks like this because we both do not like the color pink and hearts are definitely are not our taste. He likes eagles and earth tones. I had some old distress inks pads that were drying up and I wiped them on a full piece of cardstock because I did not want to waste the ink. The colors were awful...raspberry, concord grape, and spun sugar. So this looked horrible. Then I Crumpled the page up into a ball to get some wrinkles and to relieve frustration. I cut the page in half and ripped half of the page into small pieces...also a good stress relieving exercise. I glued the riped pieces to the other half, sponged some ink around tge edges and figured it was done. After coloring the heart I put modeling paste on the edges for more dimension and die cut the leaves. His birthday is in February, so I will have to go for that eagle card for his birthday. TFL, Francie

Oh wow Francie, what a magic mixed media creation and great sample for our "friendship" challenge. I loved reading your adventures when making this, the end result is fabulous!! Your hubby is very lucky!

I can see the torn effect on the background, it looks great. I find anniversary card so hard to make. I commented on one during the week and Jobear had said her DH liked cute critters...now that would make it so easy! Mine doesn't, and it sounds as if yours doesn't either. But he will love this because it comes from your heart, and as you say, you can always do an eagle for his birthday

Wow! Francie, your card is Absolutely gorgeous !
Your frustration paid off you created a beautiful background! Love the leaves you cut out to go behind the heart!
I am not good with mixed media, I admire you and Susie for having that talent!

Make it work, make it work, that is our mantra. Amazing! We are an eagle family too. My sister owns a second home in northern WI, they have eagles on that lake and we rent a place a bit further south, also eagles on that lake.

Happy 29!!! You must have been channeling me when you were creating! I love the colors and the heart is so fun to look at with the quilting, leaves and berries.
