Carla is our hostess for this last Thursday in July - and she has a lovely challenge for us which you can find HERE. I am going to miss Carla on the team, and wish her well in everything.
I know that somewhere I had a spare "sheet" of stamps from the last time I did Faux Postage, I even remember that I used Oh So Lovely, but I couldn't find it anywhere. And I have a whole envelope bulging with pretty, interesting or unusual stamps that I have saved from letters and cards received over the years. So I thought the challenge would be a good reason to try to do something with at least a couple of them. All I could think of was to create some sort of collage - and I do quite like how it turned out.
The background is IO Script and SU medallion, stamped with I don't know what. Over the centre of the medallion I added a piece of pearl grey/silver card embossed with a daisy. I added one of the butterfly stamps in the centre of this, and another in the corner of the panel. Sponged the edges of the panel with Wild Honey distress for a little definition. I pulled two leaves out of the container on my desk - one is re-inkers on watercolour paper and I haven't the faintest idea what the other one is. I added a butterfly sticker, and then to fill in some of the blank spaces, added a few random sequins and a Dew Drop, all scavenged from the same container on my desk - as was the scrap of gold cording. I don't even recognise the bird stamp though it might be Art Neko - it too was nesting on my desk: I added some yellow Liquid Pearls to his beak, and gave him a Tweet from Dina Wakely's Scribbly Birds.

I find it great fun to scavenge items, sounds like that's what you did. 'Oh, I'll put my hand in this container, see what I pull out.' That butterfly is a sticker???? Looks like you crocheted or tatted all night to create it. Lovely card indeed.

Gorgeous creation, Sabrina! All the elements work together beautifully, love how the embossed circle highlights the butterfly stamp. The lacy butterfly and silver cord add a touch of elegance. Thank you for treating us to your work of art!!
