Two of my oldest and best friends have moved out of the area over the past couple years so we are not able to get together in person anymore. But we are still close and keep in touch with texts and phone calls. When I saw the zebra colored in rainbow colors on the Vera Lane Facebook page I knew I needed to own him and I thought of my pals right off.
Straight forward on the card: merged the various images, printed and colored with Copics. The stars on the wildebeest are from an old, long forgotten named set. I used distress inks as watercolor for the background and grass but it needed something more (Vera Lane images always seem to need something "more") so I added the stenciling.
I sent off the two cards to my friends, Jan and Faith, and asked them which animal they were. I'm the bird brain; Jan picked the colorful zebra and Faith said she had to be the giraffe. It was fun that we each selected a different critter.
Oh, and now I own a collection of Vera Lane stamps because Susie Australia made me do it! LOL!
Hope you all are having a great day filled with friends both near and far.

We can blame Polly hehehe. Debbie every inch of this makes me smile. I love the stenciled additions and fun colouring of you, Jan and Faith. The background is super fun and clever. I just scrolled back for another look and a long grin. TFS my friend.

Debbie...love how you colored these critters! Surely the XO stencil on BG are hugs & kisses for your "missing" friends! The sentiment is perfect. Fantastic card! (My 2 card buddies/friends retired, NV and AZ)

PS: Can't blame Susie for you buying crafts...since when did we need an excuse?
