Hello and TFL! This is the start of a scrapbooking project of a cruise I was on 44 yrs ago! about time, huh!! : )
For this very first page, I used a vintage/feminine theme.
I started with Masking the Gibson Girl, the Dress Form(x3) and the single Rose image (x22) across the page in Hybrid black and grays and then changed at bottom to S U Merry Merlot color.
I have masked and stamped this look before (a card early in my gallery) and loved it.
Next, I watercolored around the edge of the page with an Aqua Painter and Merry Merlot ink. LOVED the pink color it produced and went further blending into some of the petals of the MM roses.
I was inspired to include FAUX Stitching and post to TECH20JUL Scrapbook page challenge. I used Faux Stitching next to each (3) Dress Form stamp image and on the right side Gray CS in White Chalk Marker. Plus added a couple of stitch stamps, far right edge.
Last detail was to prepare ephemera using a Dress Form image cut with a Deckle die, adding 2 more layered fussy cut dresses (on double stacked sticky zots) and Stickles glitter to the edge on all three. A smear of Vegas Gold ink to the hanger, plus a piece of twine. twine? you ask. I am from a farm community, my roots. at age 18 a Family Friend took me on this beautiful cruise which opened my mind to a wonderful future... but I was a girl in a dinner dress with a farm personality. I wanted to remember that feeling of being 'out of water' as I began the journey.
I chose the Dress Form image as my main detail so I could focus on these two full length dinner dresses. not that you can see easily, but I am in a burgundy dress on the right side, in middle photo. white/blue dress in the right hand photo.
Sadly, most of my photos were not Polaroids and the colors didn't fair well over the years. I will scrapbook them all, but only a few will be worthy of a posted page.
Hope you enjoyed looking. Stay well, take good care. Teresa

Teresa! This is fabulously done. I love all the detail on here! You have captured the formalness of the photo with your design, stitching, dress form. I just love it! You sound like me scrapping photos this old. I was scrapping photos of my kids at a very young age and they are 50!
Thank you for playing the Scrapbook Technique Challenge.

How disappointing that many of your older photos did not stand the test of time, but these ones look great, and you did a fabulous job scrapbooking them! Thanks for all the details of how you created this lovely layout. I especially like the deckle-cut piece and the fun metal hanger.
