I made a Julie Nutting doll card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge, it got me thinking about this card and I couldn't find it in my gallery....it seems I forgot to upload it.
There is a funny story with this card. Many years ago I mailed a Teapot Tickle card to a TEApotter, trouble is I wrote the wrong address....I mailed it to Nancy Williams address.
Nancy kindly readdressed the card and sent it on its merry way. I recently uploaded a very similar card to this for a Teapot Tickle and Nancy and I reminisced about my error. I then made this card and mailed it to Nancy...it arrived about 10 weeks later!
The background is from "The Australian Woman's Weekly Fashion - The First 50 Years". It was a cover from 1956. The lady on the front was cut from a 1956 sewing pattern magazine. The paper is super fine and sadly I amputated one foot. I went through my box of spare body parts, but nothing was quite right.
I added the skirt, it is from a Julie Nutting doll stamp and the embossing folder technique. To give the skirt a bit of dimension, do a mountain fold where each seam is, scrub a distress ink stained dauber on the fold, then repeat at each seam.
Karen Dunbrook had a great challenge in January last year called Embossed Folder Stamping (TLC723). Simply smack a distress ink pad on the embossing folder, spritz with water, put cardstock in and rub the folder with your hands - no actually machine embossing.
Thank you for looking. Stay safe.
