This card is for Lisaâs VSN challenge. I also wanted to give the watercolour challenge on unexpected colour a go and thought I could combine them.
I only have one classic rose stamp set and I use it a lot and wanted to use something different. Today my mojo is lacking a little but Lisaâs challenge appealed to me as I love flowers and roses.
I found this lovely patterned paper in my stash so started with that. I also had a look through the sketch gallery. Something Iâve not done before, but someone once told me to check out sketches when my mojo is lacking and especially for scrapbooking. I simply found the first sketch and took that as my inspiration.
I used colours on my birds to compliment the patterned paper, but as I had to drop in some unexpected colour, I chose a deep purple and added that. Iâm loving the watercolouring challenges and learning lots.
This is the first time Iâve inked up this stamp set from SU as well as the first time Iâve used the die cuts too. They really are lovely with the stitching.
Just when I thought Iâd finished my card and was going to leave a sentiment off, I spied a tiny tear at the bottom of the paper. It must have been there all the time. So thatâs how my sentiment came to sit at the bottom of the card lol.
TFL. Have fun and check out the VSN challenges...some good ones on there.

Lovely paper and I like the purple for the unexpected color on the birdies. You really did good covering the tiny tear. Glad you are enjoying the w/c challenge.

Love this, Jayne. So pretty! One would never know you had a tear where you placed the little hello! Those little birds are so sweet in the colors you did. Love the rose paper and the vibrant green piece behind your diecut.
