Snietje is our hostess for this week's tea party and we are sending the beach to Lori in Canada. I thought this was a perfect opportunity to use a page from last year's tropical beach calendar. We get one every year and you know how I never throw anything away. I figured to send the beach, it needed to be glued to a postage stamp die cut. Then I went looking for a beach image that I've never used and this cute digi from The Paper Nest Dolls was the winner. I sponged sun rays behind the beach and then went looking for a shell to add. But I got distracted by the little starfish that I found in my "junk box" along with some orange package netting. A lot of recycled treasure in this fun card and I hope it brings Lori sunshine and warm feelings.

Beautiful beach post card, love the stamp die cut, and the pretty girl!! your starfish and netting is the perfect embellishment here, okay no shell but maybe there's one hidden in the sand or in the girl's bucket...

This is fantastic Jen! You are so clever using a calendar page for your background (I love that!). Super cute scene with this young girl and her pail and scoop for some fun in the sun! I really love the starfish and that you colored it blue. This will certainly bring a big smile to the recipient's face, and will remind her of fun times she has had. ~Karen.

These bright colors certainly usher in the feeling of the beach. Love the yellow in particular.

Great idea converting your beach into a postage stamp, Jen - it really adds to the whole holiday travel vibe. Aren't you glad you got your beach in early this year, even if it wasn't for the best of reasons. The netting is a fun embellishment.

What an adorable card! It reminds of vacation postcards from Florida! Great way to recycle an old calendar, too!
