I'm late getting to the dance this week at the Teapot Challenge. But thank you, Diane for a simple, but interesting sketch. Anything that gets me into my Washi tape stash is a good thing! And that structure gave me the backbone I needed to complete my card. Thanks to Lisa, who is hosting the TPT this week. She asked for Cutting Up. Fussing Cutting or Cutting a Rug on the Dance Floor, just bring scissors!
Our cards this week are going out to someone who LOVES Contra Dancing and her precious little girls. I have to admit I've really struggled creating this card. There is an inadequate supply of sentiments for the situation this young mother finds herself in. And for that I've drug my heels not having the perfect saying. But I've also been thinking...how would I feel, what would I want so close, barring a miracle?
And I think that answer is to live doing the things I love. How about you? I went searching what exactly Contra Dancing was. I mean it sounded like it might be 'like' Square Dancing'. . I hope you have time to check it out. I came away joyful and hopeful. And I hope Katherine will be able to join her friends and cut a large rug!
She, not knowing, has taught me something about dancing and the joy therein. May this card be a joy break.
Thanks for stopping by. I am off to the galleries.

This will surely take her mind off things, Susan. I had no idea what contra dancing was/is. Thanks for taking the time to look it up and provide that link. The music is wonderful! Love the washi tape and that sentiment!

What a sweet image ...this was a hard challenge. I think your snazzy card will take her mind off things for a bit anyway. I love the washi tape and that wonderful sentiment.

I'm glad you did the sketch, I thought it was a good one. Washi was a thought of mine too. Didn't listen to that thought though. Perfect card for her and I understand the difficulty.

Beautiful card. Love all the elements -- the image, the sentiment, the washi tape, the jewel and sequins. Just perfect. And, I think your write up was perfect too. I think we all struggled a bit to make a card that would be appropriate for the situation. Yours is wonderful. And, while I had attempted contra dancing before, I am a clogger at heart -- which means I am also a lover of fiddle music. Let the music begin and the learning never stop. TFS

It was such a hard card to make but I love the sentiment you chose! I also love that you used up some washi tape (as did I on that sketch--and I usually need the nudge). I love the part black and white, part purple of your image and pretty much everything else about this fantastic card.
