For Jean's TLC challenge today - you'll find the link to the resist tutorial in her write-up which is HERE.
Top tip - think about your stencil. The first one I pulled had a lot of white space and thankfully I realised before I started sponging the adhesive on that that probably wasn't the look I was going for!
I tried with Mod Podge first, as I didn't see any reason why it wouldn't work. But, for me, it didn't. The Mod Podge took the colour, and although I tried lifting it with a baby-wipe, all I did was pill the paper.
So back to square one and try again with Ranger's multi medium. I used a foam brush for applying it. This time, it worked. I sponged my colours on.
Late last night I started fussy-cutting my little chicks to add them to the card. I popped them up on foam, and matted it onto black. I used some lemon yellow Liquid Pearls to replace the splashes of cake batter which had been lost in the fussy-cutting. and added a birthday sentiment. I like the different look this gives to a stencil. Thanks, Jean, for the challenge, and Kelly for the tutorial.

Cutest card ever in the history of the universe. Very good point about the stencil, I meant to point that out and forgot. Also make sure your stencil is clean. Thanks for adding this super card to the gallery. Oh and the foam applicator worked far better than life changing brushes or the like.

Perfect stencil for a birthday card! Love the cute chicks too! Good advice about the stencil choice; I started with too thick gel medium with tons of white space. Will still play with it later, but it was a MESS!

Oh my goodness - I love everything about this card. Wish I had peeked at the gallery before I made my card as I really like the more muted look of your colors (and I have all those). Your chicks are adorable and the stencil is so perfect for any age birthday.
