Stef is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to make a card using Melon Mambo, Grapefruit Grove and Blushing Bride. The dessert option is flowers.
I don't know how many flower stamps one person needs; but I seem to have so many of them, it was hard to choose which image to use. I pulled out this set from about a year ago, and used this stamp for the first time. I stamped on hot press watercolor paper (because it's smooth) with Antique Linen Distress Ink for a no-line watercolor effect. Then I colored the flowers with brush markers. I tried to select the main colors to match this week's colors, using a combination of the pinks for the brighter flower, and the light pink and grapefruit color for the pastel flower. I also used a variety of neutrals in this image, Mossy Meadow-ish for the greenery, and some browns for the flower pot.
I'm pleased with this card, which reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "I'm an artist. I can't draw, so I stamp!""
Before I go, I'd like to wish everyone good health and encourage everyone who can do so to stay home and be safe. We're all going through a tough time right now, and I hope making cards and other projects will help us all stay engaged and happy.

What a sweet die and card, Barbara! Your no line watercoloring is amazing - I had to double check if you had colored it or somehow used a printed paper. Beautiful work!

Barbara, your card is gorgeous! You're braver than I, doing noline coloring, and it turned out absolutely dreamy!! Love the leafy frame and the pretty Nuvo drops. Amazing card, my friend!

So pretty! Love your no-line coloring! I for one, have decided that I finally have enough flower stamps and keep reminding myself not to buy more. I'm not sure I'll ever use the ones I have! Anyway, take care of yourself, Barbara. Aren't we lucky to have SCS just the same as it's always been!
