Fun memory challenge Francie. Brought back a lot of childhood memories. This is the one I chose.
This is an Okie story, lol
When I was 11 years oldest and, my 2 SILs (my 2 brothers were 16 & 18 years older than me.)
The 2 of them , my 3 neices and myself piled in the car and took off to Long Beach, CA from Oklahoma.
At that day in time 3 could sit in the front seat of a car.
One SIL went to visit her sick brother. I stayed with the other SIL that had an aunt that lived 8 blocks from the ocean. First time to the ocean. This SIL became my second mom when my mom passed.
Now for my card:
Pulled out an older SU set that reminded me of my story and one of my favorite older sets.
Stamped image, watercolored, cut frame. The background Seaside Spray paper I sprayed heavy with Frost Shimmer Mist. Hope you can see, camera did not pick up the Shimmer.
Used Wink of Stella on the waves and added a little to her hair. Added starfish in corner. TFL
Please join us in this fun challenge, would love to hear your stories..

What a heartwarming story, Carolyn, and you chose such a perfect image. The deckle edges look great and the starfish is so cute. I actually live about 30 minutes south of long beach.

The ocean is indeed a wonderful place to visit. I could see the Atlantic from my parents' bedroom window. YOur card is fun.......a youngster at the beach. Thanks for letting us in to your family and memories.

What a wonderful memory of your trip to the ocean. I love this sweet SU set and especially love that sentiment. It is so true! Beautiful card, Carolyn.
