I have heaps of memories lying on the floor, surrounded by paper, crayons and colouring pencils. I remember drawing and doodling big flowers and strange looking people. I would then spend ages cutting out my drawings and pasting them in a scrap book.
About the only thing that has changed, is I no longer lay on the floor to colour in.....it would take me too long to get up LOL.
I have never sat down and thought why I am drawn to weirdo arty images, doodling, fussy cutting and art journalling - seems the love started in my childhood.
Before I started, I put down a layer of gesso. The magic of gesso often means dodgy stamping or colouring can be wiped off with a damp cloth. These background pages were already done, this challenge inspired me to colour an A4 sheet, then cut it up and paste it in place.
I hope you get a chance to join in. Thank you for looking.

I love the subtle images that show through on your bg, Susie. The brightly colored girl and flowers look so pretty with the muted bg. I especially like the silhouette birds. Such a very fun card.

Brilliant card my mate over East. I love it all and have to keep going back to see more. I love your description and how you came to enjoy colouring and doodles and weird things lol....mine was from cutting up Bunty comics and playing for hours with them. My sister still tells me how I kept all my paper dolls in a shoebox. I wish I still had them lol. I also used to doodle and do alien figures..I still do and still the same ones I doodled as a child. So funny.
Love your wonderful creation. Keep cool over East my friend..it’s warm and sticky here but I’m as happy as a pig in poo in my craft room with the aircon cranked up lol.
Happy days. Hugs

Oh, wonderful! Love the sense of scale, I think your Vera Lane girl must have drunk Alice's shrinking potion. I love the left-hand page with the two different styles of flowers, and the birds and script. Super use of washi.

I love this type of artwork and it’s so fun to do. You became the master of mixed media journal pages. Love the random stamping and whimsy of the images reminding me of Paper Artsy. I’ve scrolled back up four times to see everything you have included on this. Great stamps too!

I love your artsy style, maybe because it is something I am not good at, some people are just born to do mixed media I think and one of them is you I was always into cross-stitch, sewing, crochet and knitting until I went to my first stampin up party, about 20 years ago. Never took art classes and don't remember much coloring in my childhood, so I guess I am going through that now, LOL!
