One of my oldest friends recently moved out-of-state and I made this card for her. It was a big move requiring her to break some emotional ties here; hence, my sentiment. Her favorite colors are teal and peach.
I had tried the colored pencils on colored cardstock before and liked the results. But those times I used gray cardstock and colored the flowers purple and yellow. This time I opted for the turquoise cardstock and tried to use colors in that family. I am guessing it's the lack of contrast of the colors, but I had to go over the image with the pencils a lot more with this color cardstock than when I used the gray. As a result, I got a bit of the "chalky" look -- not my favorite. I don't use baby oil or gamsol so I just went with it. Also, if you plan to do this technique, it's best to use a smooth cardstock. All my colored cardstock is textured Bazzill. Even when you use the "smooth" side you get a bit of the texture in the coloring. I like that look so it works for me, but you might not.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a wonderful day.

I have never colored with pencils on a color other than white. I need to try this sometime soon because I really like your results. The texture adds a nice touch~
