Lisa is our WTUI hostess this week, and I made this for the daughter of a work colleague. You can find the challenge thread HERE.
I used Anita's book card tutorial, which is a pdf attachment in THIS POST. Since I had all that depth to play with, it was a good chance to use up a faux glass flower which has been on my desk for a couple of months. You can find the tutorial for that HERE. I used the TH Tattered Florals Bigz die, blue alcohol ink, a Hero Arts script stamp stamped in StazOn, and a silver pen to edge the petals. I used bling for the centre.
For the back of the book, I took white card and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder after stamping the leafy spray from Lovely Peacock. I added the flower and the sentiment. Used some unknown DP to line the inside cover, some sheer ribbon to tie the book closed, and some pearlescent cream card as a frame to create the top "page".

I have been wondering where that tutorial is for the book, thanks for providing that. Such a great format for adding lots of cool stuff. Your book is wonderful, you inspire me to try it.

Sabrina, you are the queen of techniques....this is truly amazing, and thanks for all the links. Your faux glass flower is amazing. This card took more than 10 minutes to make, didn't it? TFS

It is always awe-inspiring how much effort, time and talent you put into the SCS challenges, Sabrina. This book card is an excellent example. The flower is exquisite and looks like glass. The entire format is beautifully executed. You inspire us all! (after saying all that, guess I'm still a slap-dash card marker) : )

I have to say I remember the first time I saw faux glass flowers on one of your cards years ago and I was mesmerized then as I am now. I still have this on my list of want to try and every time I see it on one of your cards I think man I need to try this. Super gorgeous and Anita's book fold is just perfect for the faux glass flower.
