Welcome to this week's color combination! I'm hosting and thought it might be fun to play with color close to this year's Pantone Color of the Year which is Classic Blue.
So, I chose Blueberry Bushel + Seaside Spray + Whisper White. Dessert this week is sky.
While I love to do monochromatic cards with basically one color, please remember that you can also add any of the Stampin' Up! neutrals - or what ever you have that is somewhat similar.
I used an acrylic block for a palette and mixed up a bunch of blue shades of ink, using Blueberry Bushel and Seaside Spray re-inkers, each with at least a little bit of white ink because that makes it easier to spread across my paper with my sponge daubers. Then I just relaxed and played with them on my paper, blending until a got a "sky" I was happy with. I spritzed my cardstock a bit with water though I'm not sure it really ended up looking like stars as I had intended.
I die but a bunch of towers, swirls and words from Seaside Spray, Blueberry Bushel, Sparkle Glimmer paper and Blueberry Bushel foil and, once again, played around until I got a layout I liked. Then I added a Fleur de Lis with a gem and gave the whole card a skinny white border with a hint of Blueberry foil. And I still have the makings for a few more cards...
I so hope you will find a chance to play along with us this week. We'd love to meet up with you in the gallery.
I wrote more about this and it's companion cards on my blog.

an exceptionally lovely bg, Chris, elegant in shades of blue. Your vertical elements really advance the story. And the movement in the flourish adds further interest.
