Happy time away with family, Stacy. Thank you for leaving us a great IC site this week. Of course, I had to window shop as I perused...found a new bedding set that is perfect for a guest room I am redoing.
My inspiration was Emaria 1-Light Single Drum Pendant. I simply couldn't resist paying homage to a River Birch tree we had to have removed from our back yard last month. I've been drying several strips of bark. I carefully hand cut strips to mimic the wood panels of the light pendant.
My light bulb is from a cool set by Visible Image. It was stamped with the 'Fallen Leaves' onto a Basic Grey yellow DP and embossed with clear. The SHINE was stamped with Stazon onto Silver glittered paper. I am happy with how the rays showed through all that glitter. Mounted the panel on a pretty mustard color cs.
Shine is good, be it freshly polished furniture, a hand mirror, your husbands '68 Corvette, or the light you shine into darkness. Thanks for shining out no matter where you are today.

I love the birch strips, Susan, and of course that to the point sentiment..."Shine." I know you let your light shine anywhere you are, in all the many ways you can, and radiate the darkness in any situation. Merry Christmas, sweet friend.

Cool! That single bulb wrapped in birch bark is wonderful, and your shine comes right through your card, my friend!!!

This is ingenious! You found such a cool item on the site and translated it into a card. The strips of birch bark make this a keepsake...it will evoke memories of that tree and the lives that have gone on around it. I love the rays on the shine part, too...good job getting that to show on there.

I love you art cards and I love that you kept bark from the birch tree you had removed. You certainly used it to nail your inspiration. And, what a great message to "Shine". I have a feeling you are always shining and that is such a wonderful thing.

Marvelous use of your inspiration lamp - I think this is the first time I have ever seen real birch bark and I am amazed at how delicate it looks gracing your light bulb. That sentiment should be a wonderful reminder to look for the positive in each day.

Awww, what a terrific card! Love the birch bark and especially that you didn't use just the smooth strips but the ones with texture and imperfections. A hint of allegory perhaps in light shining through our imperfections ...or maybe just a great card! I think I need more coffee. :-)

Very cool, Susan! I didn't even think of that when we had to have a river birch removed at our old house. I love how their bark looks & you certainly put it to good use.
