Pat is hosting this weeks teaparty for young 7 year old Carson. He recently lost his mum to Cystic Fibrosis. Our brief is to send Christmas cheer.
I seem to be operating in slow motion this week, could be the weather - it's 40C/104F here today and it's going to be hotter on Friday LOL. Not really sure why I'm laughing.
Christmas will be well and truly over by the time my card would get to the USA, so I thought a Pirate in the mail, arriving early January just might do the trick.
The background is from my stash - squirt Dylusion ink spray on alfoil, squirt on a lot of water, dunk cardstock in said inky water. Once dried I applied glitter. At some point this background was made for a snowy scene, but it works just as well for the ocean.
I coloured the image with pencils, replaced the skull and crossbones from the top flag and stuck on Carson's name. Sadly I amputated one of his ears, Vincent the Pirate sounds good to me.
Thank you for looking and I hope you have a happy inky week.

I thought I heard something on the radio this morning about Australia's hottest day ever, yikes. I hope that creating Vincent's beautiful splashy sea at least helped you feel a little cooler. I wouldn't even have noticed the missing ear if you hadn't mentioned it...and only as I type I get the Vincent! I must be tired this morning. I think that is a smashing pirate ship, very sleek and stealth looking.

Love the splashy ocean background for your fun pirate, hope the amputation wasn’t too painful - maybe we’ll see a self-portrait from him in the gallery sometime?

To fun, Susie. I love the sparkly sea, that fun boat, the kitty, and Vincent. I especially love the swords. I actually have a real pirate sword by my bed. It is very old and beautiful and makes me feel safer. You card is a special treat.
Stay cool my friend. hugz

What a great card for Carson, and nice that you personalized it. I can’t see the missing ear either. Oops! I guess I can’t see it because it is not there! LOL. It, pirates do sometimes are missing parts! Merry Christmas Susie!

What??? A missing ear??? Oh, gee! I wouldn't have noticed it, Susie! Despite that, he is adorable along with his mate as they sail that awesome ocean. I suspect this card will put a smile on Carson's face, especially with his name on the sail! Great card, mf!
