The Snow Globe Jar Challenge certainly was. From being unable to locate the listed material(plastic ornament of specific size) to conquering the removal of the hinge on the one I did find that was really too large but a hacksaw and determination made it work. The actual construction of the jar was fun and I played with the miniatures before deciding to go with a deer, a tree and a gift. First up,,,,,had to lop off the antlers of my trophy deer and turn him into a button buck(first year male deer) to have the globe fit over the scene. Then--hinge removal necessitated covering up the igloo shaped opening covered with deep scratch marks---hence the braided yard scarf around the bottom of the globe. Oh--and did I say that the ring on the jar wouldn't go all the way down the globe so the lid/flat is bonded to the top of the ring, covered with first white felt and then cotton ball snow in order to attach the globe. Filled with 14 tootsie rolls--this is going to my 14 year old grandson who eats 24/7 and is 6'1".

I love tootsie rolls....even though I am allergic to milk, sneak them on occasion : ) How awesome this globe turned out despite all of the pitfalls- LOVE this!!!
