This is for Janine's challenge for Falliday Fest: holiday in another climate.
A friend brought me these shells from Sanibel last week. I often am given things for my cards and I'll admit, I wasn't sure if I would use these. All of a sudden, Janine's challenge came to mind. Eureka!!!!! I had this background; I was doing the shaving cream with stencils technique and was getting down to the last bits of ink when I decided to just drag the Bristol through the remaining ink. I made it look wavy. Glued the shells, cording, bows and 'peace'. The gluing took a while, otherwise easy.
I'll admit I cannot imagine a Christmas in another climate. So set in my ways. It is now 14 degrees F here, very unseasonably cold for November. We're all complaining about it, calling it 'Novembruary' but, I tell you, it will be a long, hard winter if we keep complaining. So I'm coming up with a list of why it's ok to be so cold: 1) the sun is out 2) I can stay home and create 3) allergy season ended sooner 4) my bird feeder is 'hopping' with all sorts of lovely birds, trying to fuel up to stay warm. They're the ones who stay all winter and if they can do it, so can we.
