Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. I don't know about you, but this color combo really challenged me! It's Night of Navy, Seaside Spray, and Rich Razzleberry. The dessert option is heat embossing. OK, so that part was easy for me, but the rest . . . ?
This card is very much a departure for me. I can't remember the last time I made a card with a grunge style to it. But since the colors were so (ahem!) challenging for me, I decided to do something completely out of my comfort zone. I started with white cardstock, stamped the balloon man with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed with navy embossing powder.
Next step, I ink blended the Seaside Spray ink, intentionally (yeah, right!) leaving the color uneven. Then I stamped the French script from Very Versailles in Rich Razzleberry, the circle background in Seaside Spray, and the two individual circles. The last two steps were to stamp the sentiment and sponge the edges with Night of Navy ink, and to mount it on a base card of Rich Razzleberry.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

I love your take on the colors, Barbara! Grunged, yes. But you know the first thing I saw...that tiny heart. Always expanding to give out more love. Wonderful!

What excellent choices for images and texture for your grunge theme! Just the right touch of sponging too. You've definitely done well with the grunge appeal, Barbara.
