I'm uploading this to the Mixability Challenge. I finally had a chance to try out my new 12Ã12" gel press plate with some botanicals from my garden. I did a blue base print first. I then brayered the Fall colors and laid down my leaves. I used a second sheet to pull off the paint from around the leaves then removed the leaves and pulled my print. I'll put a photo of the original in my post reply. I didn't like how much blue was showing through the leaves so I added colord with colored pencils. I then shaded around the leaves with pencil smudging the shading. I then added some details and highlights to the leaves it a white gel pen.

I love blue as a background for rich fall reds - this is just super. I can see where Lori is coming from - after reading her comment I remembered a lovely picture in an Audubon calendar of a fallen leaf in ice.
