I wanted to create a calm art journal page, and made an ocean-themed one, with a little ship being on its way to someplace new. Since, I wanted to create the feeling of a lot of open space, and many possibilities, I left quite a lot of white (calm) space.
Start by applying Distress Resist Spray to the background with a palette knife. Use Scribble Sticks to color the page. Color directly to the paper for the sea, and dissolve with water. Pick the color up from the crayon with a paint brush and water, for the lighter area in the sky. The Distress Resist Spray resists the color, and creates a cool resist effect.
Stamp the little ship and sentiments, and add some color to the ship.
Thank you so much for looking at my project!

Now this is journaling! I love these pages - so soft and sweet and peaceful. Impressive!
