I made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Jen is our hostess and she has a wonderful challenge for us called, "The Need to Read." The reading part of this card is not obvious. When I was young, I used to love taking a good book and hiding in a wildflower garden we had and escaping into another world with my book and the flowers all around me. The flowers are one stamp that I stamped and colored with copic markers. The banner is die cut from black, then heat embossed the sentiment on top with white embossing powder. I am also entering this card into this week's Alphabet Challenge for the letter T for the tall flowers on this card. I felt like Bob Ross (the painter) making this happy card. Thanks for looking today! ~Karen.

I love your beautiful garden, Karen, and I loved your story about when you were younger reading your books in a wildflower garden. That sounds like a wonderful place. Love your card.

What a beautiful card, Karen! Loved reading your story among the flowers. I can remember walking to the library and telling myself I was going to start with the As and read every book! Well, that didn’t quite happen but I did read a lot of books that summer.

This is so sunny and happy..I love the yellow polka dot dp and those wonderful wildflowers. I think your childhood memory of reading among the wildflowers is enchanting....I like to read on my patio (which has tons of flowers..I live in a townhouse so my garden is a patio one) so I feel like I'm in a field of flowers ;)
They certainly are happy flowers! And, so neat that it makes you recall happy memories with a book. Love the whimsical feel and your bright polka dots!!

Oh, this is so sweet and summery looking. I just love the look of those fun flowers. The heat embossed sentiment on that cool looking black label looks awesome too! I am picturing you amongst the wildflowers reading your book and it is quite enchanting!

What a beautiful flower card! Your coloring is fabulous! I love your story of reading books amidst the wildflowers! I loved to read out in the woods behind our house too, when I was a youngster...usually in a tree fort! Such fun memories!
