Happy 4th of July! Itâs my turn & my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge this week. Talk about a rabbit hole! I got lost in there for quite a while, soaking up all the fab DIY projects. For my card, I was inspired by THIS. The simple, nautical wreath turned into a little beach & sailboat scene inside a wreath.
After die cutting a white & a navy circle frame, I cut pieces of the navy one, edged them w/ a gold Krylon pen & attached them to the white frame. On the circle inside the frame, I added waves, a sailboat, some palm trees & a beach umbrella. For the sand, I cut the Kraft c/s, stamped it w/ a splatter image & white ink, then inked the top edges w/ the white ink.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups & product links are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, I love a beach scene and this one is so grand with the palm tree and someone sailing across the seas. Your umbrella is so cute with the stripes. And, the sand is great with the splatters making it looking more grainy.

Julie, this is so wonderful. I love every single detail from the tiny boat out on the ocean waves to the umbrella under the palm trees. This is absolutely spectacular!

Beautiful sailing scene, Julie. Love the porthole, your beach, and the palm trees. Super dies you used. This is a fun card.
I got lost in that site too. I had been wanting to do a barn door type ending to my cabinets and found some great directions (I am going to try it), found some craft room ideas and found a light fixture I may try to buy. Fun site.

Julie, this is a die cut masterpiece. Your bright palette really accentuates this cheery ocean scene. I love all the depth you get here with different shades of color and I like how you've added texture to your sand with stamping and white ink. The sequins are the perfect touch. Love this card so much!
