I have been doing a lot of magazine image transfer and also leafy botanical gel prints and the other day I decided to combine the two techniques. I started by brayering a very thin layer of black and violet for my image. I used an ad from Elle magazine. I used a thin layer of magenta, pewter and blue over the image once it had dried. I then laid my leaves down in areas where I knew there wasn't part of the image. I rubbed thoroughly over the leaves then pulled up the corner near the leaves enough to remove them without pulling off the whole paper. I laid the paper back down then rubbed again to pick up the leaf impressions and then pulled the print. I have also been playing around with enhancing my gel prints. I will put a picture of the uoriginal print in my reply post. I used some Gelatos and colored pencils to deepen some of the colors. I added pencil shading around the botanicals. I used white gel pen over the stems then used a Micron pen to add some detailing to the leaves and stems.
a lot of fun playing with the magazine image transfer technique with Acrylic paint as the transfer medium. I did a blog post with my hints on doing the image transfer technique.

Gail, you get the best magazine transfers! Love it combined with the leaf print. Thanks for getting back to nature and treating us to your wonderful work of art.

Absolutely stunning! I hope I can find a video of this technique. . . I have a hard time comprehending the instructions without seeing how it's done. Again, thank you for sharing this beautiful card!PS: The link to the blog post did not work for me, don't know about anyone else.

Gorgeous colors on this. I have only done the magazine transfer once and it did not come out nearly this good. I don't think I had a good selection of images to use since I don't get magazines any more I had to use small images from a quilt magazine and I don't think they showed up very well. I may need to buy a magazine in the store the next time I want to try it again.
