This card was made for Always Fun Challenges #100 which required a card inspired by a movie - I chose "Finding Nemo". Happy 100th anniversary AFC!!!
All the stamped images are from the retired 1997 Stampin' Up! (SU) "Fish Frolics" stamp set. SU wasn't making matching die sets back then, so I stamped my images on different colored cardstock, and cut them out with my Brother ScanNCut leaving a 0.04" border around each cut.
The "water" background is made using the paper tearing technique, then layering each layer from top to bottom using Tombow glue.
Then sentiment is hidden in the sand - it's from SU's "Petite Pairs" set. I really didn't want to invade upon the tranquil scene of the fish swimming by, so that's why I placed it in the sand.
To create "depth" I used darker cardstock as the torn layers went from top to bottom. Then I used adhesive foam strips to raise the seaweed and two fish up off the surface of the stamped fish and background.
The stamp set doesn't have a clown fish, or blue tang, so I used orange and black on the top left fish, and for the smaller center fish, I stamped blue on yellow cardstock.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because of the need to cut out the fish (by hand or digital cutter).
